Paul Brown was a senior journalist and presenter of Channel Report, Channel Television's flagship news programme.
Born 1950, he joined Channel TV in 1972 as a reporter and during his 25-year career with the station, Paul became one of the main presenters of Channel Report and one of the station's news editors.
Paul died suddenly in November 1997.
In many other places there will be references to Paul's career as a top journalist in the Channel Islands. What is not mentioned is his early days in Rhyl in North Wales.
He looked like the standard geek, wiry, glasses, but was a young man with a sense of humour, a love of the English language, and was a good friend.
He joined the local children's theatre group and was well remembered for his portrayal of a German officer in a production of a play about young French Resistance fighters called The Deserted House. His sudden disappearance (actually a move to the Channel Isles) was a great loss to his friends there.
His sudden death in 1997 was a greater loss.
